A story of two passions: precision & property.
How an obsession with organized numbers became a business helping landlords reclaim their weekends.
Healthcare taught me precision. Real estate taught me passion.
For years, my professional life was in healthcare, a world where every action has a consequence and perfection is the standard. It is a field that hardwires you with a meticulous, detail-oriented mindset.
At the same time, I have always had a personal passion for finance, money management, and the incredible potential of real estate investing.
When I bought my first single-family rental property many years ago, these two worlds collided.
I did not just want to “get by.”
I quickly realized that owning a property was one thing. Managing its finances with the same level of precision I was used to was another. I wanted to maximize every dollar and take advantage of every legal tax deduction permitted.
So I searched high and low for answers and for experts. What I found was a struggle. It was incredibly difficult to find knowledgeable people with an impeccable reputation who truly understood the nuances of real estate bookkeeping.
“I knew there had to be a better way. So I built it myself.”
I was always the first in line at my accountant’s office.
Driven by my passion for organizing numbers, I developed my own system. It became a personal obsession to create a set of books so perfect and so organized that by January 1st each year, I was completely ready for tax season, just waiting on a few forms from the bank.
This stood in stark contrast to the experience of my investor colleagues. At the start of each year, I would hear their familiar frustrations: a shoebox full of receipts, no bookkeeping done at all, and a mountain of stress.
They would always ask me, “Who do you use?”
I finally realized that I was the answer.
There are two kinds of investors out there.
I started helping colleagues get their books in order, and I discovered my true calling.
There are those who are passionate about the numbers, and those who are passionate about the art of the deal. Investors who craft real estate into success, but who hate staring at spreadsheets.
“My goal is to serve those artists.”
“Real Cents Organized” is a play on words.
It captures our entire mission: to make real sense of your finances by getting them organized.
Let us be honest, bookkeeping is not fun for most people. You did not invest in real estate so you could spend your nights buried in spreadsheets. We remove that burden so you can spend your time doing the parts of real estate that you love. And most importantly, spend your precious hours with your family.
To give you back your time, your focus, and your peace of mind.
Nothing is more rewarding than watching a new client sigh a breath of relief when we take over their books. It is like watching them physically exhale the stress from their lives.
That is our mission. And the reason I get out of bed each day.
Thank you for being here. I look forward to helping you on your journey.
